History of Fairport Convention
Fairport Convention were more than just another band - they virtually invented "folk-rock" towards the end of the 1960s, acting as a springboard for groups such as Steeleye Span and the Albion Band, and for the songwriting talents of Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson. They were one of the most influential and important groups of their era — "Meet On The Ledge" traces Fairport's history from 1966 to 1982, and contains interviews with every major figure connected with the band.
