Rare, Intimate Photographs of Elvis Presley in 1956
This pictoral record of Elvis Presley on tour in America features over 120 behind-the-scenes photographs, which have never been released.
In 1956, before Elvis Presley reached the height of his fame, he made a concert tour from Florida to New Orleans. Jay B.Leviton, the photographer assigned to cover the tour, was allowed unrestricted and prolonged access to Elvis.
The resulting photographs provide a candid portrait of Elvis, who is shown relaxing in a roadside diner, rehearsing with his band, meeting star-struck fans and singing with them around a backstage piano.
